In the era of digital globalization, developing communicative competence in English as a foreign language (EFL) has become a priority for educational systems worldwide, including Uzbekistan. This study explores the effectiveness of web-based technologies—such as Web 2.0 tools, online platforms, social media, virtual exchanges, and AI-supported applications—in enhancing students’ communicative competence. Communicative competence, as conceptualized by Dell Hymes and expanded by Canale and Swain, encompasses grammatical, sociolinguistic, discourse, and strategic competencies.
